Work versus play. When I was a kid, I drew all the time, for fun. It didn't matter to my 8-year-old self that I was drawing stuff that looked like an 8-year-old did it (process oriented = play). Something changed and in my late teens and twenties, I didn't draw for fun at all. I was too scared the finished product wouldn't look as good as I imagined (results oriented = work). A few years ago I decided that if I was ever born to do anything, art was it, and it would be a good thing to at least try. I found out about RISD's continuing education program and signed up. Those classes have pushed me in all kinds of places I never thought I could go, but I still don't create art of my own free will.
That's where the website comes in; as a place where I can create things for the fun of it and for the entertainment of other people. Play!
Who knows where this is headed; it's about the journey.
